Dancing with Elephants - Part 1
Episode 1 of the wildlife film series tracks some challenges faced by a documentary filmmaker trying to save his action cameras from being stolen by thirsty African elephant bulls. The cameras are discarded by the elephants, then retrieved... repeatedly. Cameras get repositioned by the elephant's numerous times - and even thrown around. Interaction with these wild giants leads to some delightful - and some downright dodgy elephant encounters. Part of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to the WATER FOR ELEPHANTS TRUST to help thirsty elephants in northeastern Botswana.

Behind the Scenes
See what it takes to film up close and personal with these mighty elephants. Getting the shots we need to document the series. Being in the right place at the right time without affecting elephant behaviour - and keeping the bulls happy with our intrusion. With background scenes from a number of episodes; there are alarming as well as funny moments. We get to see 'Lefty', in a really cranky mood. We meet ‘Benny’, the wild African elephant bull whose relationship with Elephant Sands is almost a decade now. Benny regularly visits the Lodge to get given water from the hosepipe - the only elephant who has this privilege. An eye opening insight into wildlife filming and elephant activity.

Boko
Boko is a legend at Elephant Sands. The rowdiest, loudest, most destructive regular visitor in the region. This wild elephant bull weighs in at around 5 tonnes and is fast on his feet. His broken tusks give him a rugged look and when he frowns, which is often, it brings a twinkle to his eye. Boko’s behaviour is challenging at the best of times. He often charges at whomever may be in front of him. Whether its staff, guests, or visitors. He will scare the living daylights out of you but he’s never harmed a soul. In fact, he’s never actually touched anybody, ever. I think he’s just having fun
